Devizes Rugby Club are delighted to announce that Kieran Hiscock has been appointed as 2nd XV captain.

Hiscock was a pivotal part of the 2nd XV's rise in Dorset & Wilts North 2 last season and led by example throughout, calling up a number of players to help the cause when player numbers were low.

Hiscock said "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of being 2nd XV captain and improving on last season.  We finished the season with a number of good wins, so I am hoping to take that form into the new season.  The league is going to be tough, but I'm hoping we can continue to play a fun, social brand of rugby which ultimately will help in increasing numbers playing rugby.  Our 3rd team folded last season due to player numbers, therefore one of the visions is for the 3rd team to be reinstated through an increase of player nunbers".

Hiscock has played in all front row positions whilst playing senior rugby and has even dabbled with a bit of place kicking and with restarts! The 2nd XV is a side designed for new players to the game or those returning to the game after a length of time away, in addition to those who are keen on developing their game to play the highest standard possible.

Mixed touch rugby is taking place currently on Wednesdays at 7pm on Devizes Green.  Please bring trainers and water if you fancy coming along and playing!
